Tom Barton, owner of Web Solutions and Meriden resident, has been named as Meriden Rotarian of the year. The award was presented at the club’s annual installation dinner at the Cabin Restaurant. Mr. Barton joined the club in 1997 and has since joined the board of directors. Among his achievements, Mr. Barton created a computerized database of the club’s 50 or so members, worked on the club’s new website, organized a volleyball grudge match against the Wallingford Rotary Club and helped in building a branch of the public library in the Boys and Girls Club of Meriden. Also honored at the awards ceremony with Distinguished Service Awards were Liz Davis and police captain Frank Lewandowski.
