The University of Saint Joseph, located in West Hartford, CT, was founded in 1932 as a women’s Catholic college and transitioned to co-ed in 2018. It provides a rigorous and professional liberal arts education for a diverse student population of graduate and undergraduate students from Connecticut and the surrounding five states.
While it had an existing website, the University of Saint Joseph wanted a new site that was sleek and modern, offering faster load times, mobile responsiveness, and better navigation.
“Our team’s goal was to make the website easier to navigate with updated and reorganized content, and clearer calls-to-action for a better user experience,” said Diana Sousa, Associate VP, Marketing and Public Affairs at USJ.
“We are obsessed with the user experience. We want all of our website visitors to be able to easily find what they need as efficiently as possible while offering them information about USJ that might interest them.“
Web Solutions built a new WordPress website with a new design, a more intuitive navigation, and additional features to help users find what they’re looking for, such as allowing site visitors to search for professors by both school and department, and creating individual bio pages for professors.
“From the RFP process to the launch, the Web Solutions team did a great job of listening to our needs, understanding our goals, and working with us every step of the way to deliver the best website we’ve ever had,” said Sousa. “Based on the feedback and data we have about the updated website, users are much more engaged in the content and find what they are looking for much more easily. The user experience is significantly better and know we have the content, format, and technology to continue to improve the site with their help.”
