Munson’s Chocolates is Connecticut’s largest retail chocolate manufacturer, offering hundreds of high-quality chocolate confections online and in eight stores throughout the state. Founded in 1946 by Ben and Josephine Munson, the company is now run by the second and third generation of the Munson family.
Munson’s wanted a new, mobile-friendly website with a more modern look and feel and an easier way to manage online product ordering.
Web Solutions built an ecommerce site on its proprietary Content Management System v4 platform. In addition to a fresh new design, the site features improved integration with Munson’s UPS ShipStation, so orders placed on the site don’t have to be re-entered into a separate shipping system for delivery.
The new site also includes additional information about the company’s sustainable practices, including that all Munson’s chocolate suppliers are required to follow Fair Trade practices, and that the company repurposes the scrap produced in the manufacturing process by covering them in chocolate and selling them as factory seconds.
